What happens after I place my order?

  1. You will see an order confirmation page with an order number.
  2. You may see an email stating your order is on hold. This happens for everyone.
  3. You may receive a call, text, or email from us just to confirm or clarify your order details.
  4. Our master roaster will light up the roaster and artfully roast your favorite coffee to order.
  5. The order will usually ship out the next day.
  6. Your tasty coffee will arrive and make your mailbox smell so good! We know it will make you SMILE! 🙂
  7. Please come back and rate the products you loved so others can know how much you like it!

Is it possible to get coffee in less than 24 hours?

It is possible to get a fresh bag of coffee roasted and ready for pickup the same day! For this expedited service, please text me at 530-227-0864. Start the text with “Rush Makin’ Smiles Coffee.” I will do my best to meet your rushed coffee needs, but I cannot guarantee this service is available every day.

How does shipping work?

Our goal is to get you quality fresh roasted coffee as soon as possible.  We currently only offer shipping through USPS and UPS. We realize our shipping fee is a bit high when we are all used to free 2-day shipping from some sites.  The truth is, it costs me more than $7.55 to ship almost every order that goes out and our prices are too low to ship one or two bags and make profit if we offered free shipping on everything.  We do offer FREE SHIPPING automatically at checkout with a $45 purchase or more.

Is anything added to the coffee?

No, the coffee is only quality specialty grade fresh roasted coffee.  The flavors mentioned on the website are tasting notes that can be experienced when coffee is freshly roasted, ground, and then brewed.  Professional tasters will be able to taste even more complex flavors than are listed on this website.  We only list the most prominent tasting notes noticed by many coffee drinkers. Since everyone tastes a little different, you may or may not be able to taste everything mentioned in the coffee description. One more thing, these tasting notes are lost with time after roasting, and even faster once the coffee is ground. Just something to keep in mind.

Can I get my coffee ground?

Yes! There is no extra fee for ground coffee.  Whole beans hold their flavor better and stay fresh longer, but I realize not everyine has a coffee grinder.  For best coffee flavor, we recommend grinding your coffee just before brewing, but we are also happy to do it for you!

If you have a different brew method or grind preference than what is listed on the product page, then please describe what you would like in the notes section during checkout and I will do my best to accomodate.

What happens if I do not like the coffee and want to return it?

Almost everyone loves Makin’ Smiles Coffee and we unfortunately cannot take returns of coffee.  If you are one of the few who do not like the coffee you selected, then email us at orders@makinsmilescoffee.com with your name, order number, and reason you are dissatisfied. Customer satisfaction is very important to us and we want you to smile when you drink our coffee.  Though we do not offer refunds, we will talk with you about what you did not like, what you do like, and try to make it right so our coffee can make you too SMILE.

What if I would like to cancel or change my order after placing it?

Please reach out to us right away as we work to roast and ship coffee orders very quickly.  We will do everything we can to accommodate your change. Nothing can be done without incurring extra cost once the roasting process begins and the shipping label is created.  If you do need to make a change, send a text to 530-227-0864 with CANCEL or CHANGE order in the first part of the text. We will contact you to let you know if we can accommodate or if it is too late. We want to be sure every customer gets what you order and you order great coffee that makes you SMILE!
