How Does Shipping Work?
Makin’ Smiles Coffee roasts in small batches every few days and usually ships the next day, via USPS or UPS. Shipping costs $7.55 on most orders — a little under what it actually costs us, since coffee is heavy and a small roastery can’t negotiate the free 2-day rates larger sites offer. Orders of $50 or more ship free automatically at checkout.
Local pickup in Palmyra, Virginia is free — call or text 530-227-0864, or email orders@makinsmilescoffee.com to arrange it. You’ll also find our coffee at the farm stand, local farmers markets, and partner locations around central Virginia; see the Where to Find Us Locally page for the full list.
Same-day rush roasting is sometimes available for local pickup in Palmyra. Text 530-227-0864 and start the message with “Rush Makin’ Smiles Coffee,” and we’ll arrange it whenever we can, though we can’t promise it every day.
How Do I Change or Cancel My Order?
Makin’ Smiles Coffee can often change or cancel an order if you get in touch right away, since roasting and shipping happen quickly. Text 530-227-0864 with CANCEL or CHANGE at the start of the message, and we’ll confirm whether the change can still be made. Once roasting has started and a shipping label is created, changes usually can’t be made without extra cost.
What Is Makin’ Smiles Coffee’s Return Policy?
Makin’ Smiles Coffee does not accept returns of roasted coffee. Once a bag has shipped, it’s a food product that’s been out of our hands, so it can’t go back into inventory or out to another customer — even unopened.
That said, if a bag doesn’t work out, we still want to make it right. Email orders@makinsmilescoffee.com with your name, order number, and what didn’t work. We can’t offer a refund, but we’ll talk it through, help you find something better suited, and do what we can to fix it — whether that’s a different roast, a different origin, or just honest advice on what to try next.
